Happy Halloween!

Note for the future: my baby will not be a pumpkin on its first (or second, third, etc.) Halloween. I find this lame (Really sorry if you've done this or are planning to. Babies could dress up as anything and still be cute!). There are so many other cuter baby costumes.

For example:

Baby Tutti Fruitti

Baby Tootsie Roll

Baby Hot Dog

Baby Frog and Lilly Pad
Baby Dragon
Baby Circus Monkey

Baby Wonder Bread

Baby Banana

And, my personal favorite, Baby Car Air Freshner! : ) So cute!

Do You Bunco?

Do you Bunco?

I play once a month with a group of 12 ladies. We usually play on a weeknight, but this moth we opted to play on Friday night and make it a couples night, everyone bringing their husbands. I'm so excited....I finally have a husband! : ) Although, my husband isn't thrilled that he has to go and miss the last regular season high school football game. I hope he has fun though, I think he will.

Tonight I played with another group, just filling in. Both groups have a $10 "buy-in" (or whatever you want to call it...a fee to play). I usually don't win but tonight I tied for the most wins (but lost the money in a roll off), although I did win most Buncos. I came home with $50. The husband was happy! : ) Hopefully, I can do it again Friday night. Although, if you play Bunco, you know that it's kind of a hit or miss thing. No skill, pure luck.

I plan on making Oreo balls and taking them. We're supposed to bring a "Halloween dish" (I couldn't think of anything but pumpkin spice cookies, and wasn't really feeling those). I've heard they're very good. I'll let you know (and hopefully have some more big winnings to talk about)! : )

Road Trip

I've been lacking in the posting here lately, mostly because not much is going on these days. We're looking forward to the end of the year (my sister's wedding is TWO months from today)!

Also, we've got lots of trips (well, three) planned for 2010. In fact, I got my substitute today....2 and a half months early, haha! (But, I wanted to be sure I got one particular substitute.)

For our first trip, we're headed north to .........................

We're headed to Chicago in January! We're sooo excited!
Neither of us have been and we are actually taking off work to go!

It's going to be dang cold, though. That should be interesting. I don't do cold weather, usually. I can count on one hand (ok, maybe two) the times I've been around snow; and Chicago in January means snow will be fairly certain!

We look forward to seeing Brian, Wesley's cousin, who lives in Chicago, and is the reason we're headed that way. He was a groomsman in our wedding and also made a top notch video for us that was shown at the rehearsal dinner! : ) It was one of my most favorite gifts. Really. It will always be fun to watch and was very special!

Of course, I'm hoping to see her:

Not that we're going to a show or anything (getting tickets is crazy ridiculous....and I'm certain Wesley and Brian would not go with me to see Oprah), but I really love Oprah. She has a lot of crazy views that I don't necessarily agree with, but I do like her and enjoy her show.
Especially her favorite things episodes! : )

Have you ever been before? Anything we should be sure to see or do?

Christmas Stockings

The Christmas season is just around the corner! This will be our "first Christmas together" and I need some cute Christmas stockings. I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for, but I want them to look nice. I've tried searching online and haven't come across anything I'm willing to buy yet. Also, I've checked Hobby Lobby and Michaels, and again, nothing. Any suggestions on where to find some? I don't want anything with snowmen or Santa's, etc., on it.

On my trip to Michaels I did find some really cute mistletoe I'm going to go back and buy after payday (it's rough getting paid only once a month!) and a really cute wreath. I use the word "wreath" loosely. Maybe the term "door hanger" is more appropriate. It's one of those that is longer, and not round. It's very cute and a good price too.

Pink Socks

Look at the fourth or fifth picture down.

Husband's remark: "Why are they wearing pink socks?"

My remark: "Why are their pants pulled down?!!!"

The Pumpkin Smashers

Well, it's finally starting feeling like fall. I love TRUE fall. We don't have much of that here in the South. It's HOT or COLD usually. Not to many distinct seasons. But the temperature was finally beginning to cool down, and I was getting in the spirit of fall, I thought. I'd bought pumpkins, and was searching for a new, pretty, autumnal (I love that word) wreath. ..... Well, I haven't found the wreath. I want fall colors, nothing too over the top. I don't know, I'll just know it when I see it! (sorry, I'm digressing) .... Well, we come back from out of town Sunday night and someone stole my pumpkins and smashed them!!!! I was so upset! Who knew there was a Fall Grinch! So, no pictures to share, sorry! Any ideas on where to get a good, pretty fall wreath? I want to BUY one, I don't want to make anything.

UPDATE: We bought 2 new pumpkins (the General didn't get her own pumpkin this time) and wrote "Jesus loves you" on the back, just incase someone comes back for more mischief. Jesus died for the pumpkin smashers too, right?
