The Iron Bowl

On Saturday we packed it up and headed to the Plains for the Iron Bowl.  It was Eli's very first Iron Bowl to attend!

Tiger Walk was very crowded.  We couldn't really see anything.

We sat in our usual seats, while Nana and Puddin sat a few sections over.  This was Z's first game of the season.  We're glad we got to spend some extra time with him over our break.

 Eli did great during the game!  We left at halftime, but not because of him.  I had only slept about 3 hours the night before (I've been having bouts with insomnia) and had a terrible headache.  The noise level wasn't helping, and I had all I could take.

Of course he played his usual seat-hopping game, but I don't think anyone minded!

The outcome wasn't what we were hopping for, but you can't win 'em all, right?  It's still GREAT to be an Auburn Tiger!

Thanksgiving - part 2

 Part 2 of Thanksgiving involved a late afternoon/early dinner at my grandparent's house.  We spent just over an hour in the car traveling from Thanksgiving p.1 to Thanksgiving p.2 - just long enough for a good nap!  : )

When we got to Pansey (yes, that's the name of the town!) we did some front porch sitting and some playing in the yard.

We usually go to a movie after Thanksgiving (and for that matter, Christmas too).  This year we went to see The Muppets (which was cute and comical).  It was a matinee, so we decided to take the gamble and take Eli with us.

He did great!  He ate small pieces of popcorn during the previews and then slept through most of the movie.  He was awake for the end, but did pretty well sitting in my lap and watching the movie.

Thanksgiving - part 1

I hope all of you bloggers had a Happy Thanksgiving!  We are still trying to recover, and oddly enough, Wesley, Eli, and I, did not consume any turkey!

Thanksgiving started last week at Eli's school.  Lunch time actually fell during Wesley's normal lunch break, so it worked out best for him to go-no sub needed!  I'm hoping I can get away and join my little man for Christmas dinner though!

I sent Wesley with the camera and instructions to 'document their time together'; this is all I got.  I guess I should be more specific next time of what I want!  : )

On Monday of the week of Thanksgiving, Aunt Katie came to town.  She and Eli played hooky on Tuesday.

Tuesday afternoon Uncle Z flew into town and then we had dinner with Nana & Puddin' to drop him off.

Wednesday morning we got up and drove to Elba.  In our haste to get on the road, I forgot my camera (among a handful of other things-I hate it when I do that)!  Thankfully Nana and Uncle Z were willing to meet us in Daleville to give us Nana's camera.

Wednesday night in Elba was family time!  Here are the second cousins (aka, the great-grands).

We also celebrated a special birthday!  : )

 I couldn't resist putting these pictures in.  Eli loved playing with the baby and giving it sugars.

He also stirred that tea furiously.  I don't know how you like yours, but there will be no lumps if you're sipping tea with Eli!

Thanksgiving Day we kicked off Round 1 with lunch at the farm.  It's the same place we went last year and the year before.  There were about 50 there for a great bbq lunch!

Eli played on a few tractors and had a great time roaming around outside.

Wedding

Before we get to far into the holiday madness, I've got some catching up on blogging to do!

Last weekend we traveled to Marietta, Georgia, to see my good friend, Allison, get married.  Allison and I have been friends since our freshman year at Auburn.  We attended church together, were in the same freshman girls Bible study, and were in the same Cohort for Elementary Education.

I think we clean up pretty nicely, don't you?!

 I wish I had a close up of Eli.  He was wearing a navy corduroy Izod blazer that was really cute if I do say so myself.  Someone gave it to us while I was still pregnant with Eli, so it was fun to finally put that on him!

This is my friends and I dancing/jumping to Mmm Bop.  It's kind of our thing.  Yes, we realize how stupid we look to outsiders, but for us, it brings back memories of a 'Internship is over' celebration trip to the beach, just before we graduated.  Even Jessica got in on the action.

 Some of my favorite people in the entire world.  I love how no matter the time that passes between visits, we start right back where we left off.  *True friends*

The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a blast!  It was so nice to spend time with such wonderful friends!

Playing in the cabinets is Eli's latest adventure, and despite the look on his face in some of these pictures, he considers it to be a blast!

Miracle Playground Picnic

On our way back from our weekend get-away to the beach, we stopped in Dothan for lunch with Nana and Puddin.  It felt great outside, so we decided to pick up some Subway, have a picnic, and let little man stretch his legs.

Dothan has a fantastic complex and playground.  The baseball complex is all "soft" on the grounds and is for disabled players.  The playground is behind the complex and has the same "soft" stuff under all of the equipment.

Eli took off as soon as we got there!  He only took a few bits here and there!

These were bells.  You moved the music notes and they swung and hit the bells.

Eli followed this little girl around.  He was eyeing the rice krispy treat in her hand!  : )

This makes me laugh!  Eli looks like he's getting a wedgie!

It was a great little break and the perfect way to let Eli spend some of that pent up energy - he slept the whole way back home!

A Fall Weekend at the Beach

Since we had a long weekend off, we decided to get away to the Gulf Coast to visit Ginny & Pops.  It was great to spend some time with them!

Ginny took Eli for several rides in the car!

Saturday we drove over to Grayton Beach and had lunch at the Red Bar.  It was quite eclectic, but was a fun atmosphere and the food wasn't half bad either!

After lunch, we walked out on the beach.  Eli LOVED peaking through the rails and it took some coaxing to get him to continue on!

I think it has something to do with the position and tilt of the Earth in relation to the sun during this season, but I really love the beach during the fall.  The way the sun reflects off the water is so beautiful!

Little man LOVES the feel of the sand squishing between his fingers.  He wallered in the sand like a pig in the mud!

Isn't God's handiwork beautiful?!
