KINDERGARTEN!

How did this happen so soon?  Seriously!  I can't believe the first week of kindergarten is in the books.

The night before kindergarten we read Twas the Night Before Kindergarten.

"Strike a pose about how you feel about kindergarten!"

It was about 6:15 at this point.  Yikes!  Nana was such a big help for us.  She came and took Eli to school the first two days, and cooked for us on our first night home.  I definitely think that's the way to go!  We may just make that a tradition!

He's just like his momma...squints in every single picture!

Since Nana was here, we were able to get a family first day of school picture!

Eli and his sweet teacher

We love you Nana!

Eli had a great first day.  He and a few others ride the bus from his school to our school in the afternoon.  One of the teachers snapped this picture for me of he and his buddy Jackson walking to get on the school bus.

The crash came the second day after school.  Eli fell asleep in the car on the way home from my school, and slept until after dinner!

He had a great first week of school.  He sits at a table between two girls, so I'm not sure he says two words all day.  He's been taking his lunch every day, but on Friday, after hearing that they were having pizza in the lunchroom, he convinced his teacher that he was supposed to have pizza and a lunch box! : )  She later apologized and said she should have texted to check, but no big deal.  We found it so funny!  The biggest news of the week was that his lunch room serves STRAWBERRY MILK!

Here's hoping the rest of the year is just as smooth.  I'm sure it will be.  We are excited for the year ahead!

Landon - 17 months

Landon boy, we love you so much.  We pray each day that you will grow to love Jesus and do big things for Him.  We love you, buddy!

Firsts:  Trip to the mountains, getting car sick.  A movie theater shooting in Louisiana.

News headlines:  Talks of who's running for President.  Lots of Republicans this year.

Milestones:  You are getting ready for football season for sure.  You have the tomahawk chop down pat, and also know what to do when we start singing War Eagle!

Measurements: Size 4 diapers, 18 mth clothes, size 5 shoe, I'm guessing 22-23 lbs

Like Mommy: You love books.  You will sit by yourself and read.
Like Daddy:  You love Mommy's banana nut bread.
Like Eli:  You are fast!

Favorite Toys:  Light switches and buttons.

Sounds: Mama, dada, nana, EI (Eli) bye bye, uh-oh, awww, hey,  daw-dee (doggie), thank you, diaper, boo-boo, tee-tee, ball, more-more, uh-uh (no sound), button, light, off, hot.  You've put a few phrases together:  "hey Eli!" and "hey baby!" (when you saw yourself in the mirror after bath.

Challenges:  You've had a runny nose and haven't been sleeping great at night.  Of course Mommy is concerned because this always seems to turn into something bigger.  You are Eli are fighting over toys more and more.  Usually it's you pitching a fit when you can't have what he's got.

Our Days:  With summer drawing to a near, we are trying to get to bed earlier.  You went to daycare for a few hours twice a week the last few weeks while Mommy get her classroom ready.

Funny/Favorite Moments:
Mommy's favorite-  Snuggles and being with you every day.
Daddy's favorite-Family Reunion, Camp Nana Puddin, and the beach.  Watching you and Eli play, dance, and wrestle-fight.
