No Way Jose

Yesterday we packed up and headed down for a really hot fun day of tailgating on the plains before the San Jose State game!

We tailgated at our favorite spot, Samford Lawn!  There's always a lot to see, plenty of room to run and play, and you're not too far from everything.

Eli had a blast tailgating.  I think he was the only one not bothered by the extreme heat.  We played many a game of ladder ball, including a family tournament.

First time (but certainly  not the last) Landon boy had his picture taken by the sign.

There was also plenty of soccer and football throughout our day.

At some point, Landon lost his clothes and became much happier!

If this isn't my child, picked out books to bring to Auburn too!....

We also got to see friends around campus.  These two are sweet friends and were a little upset they weren't sitting together at the game!

Despite the heat, it was a really fun day!  We're looking forward to tailgating all day again this season, but at a much cooler game! And to cap off the day, the tigers secured another win.  2-0 War Eagle!!

Labor Day Weekend Travels

Labor Day weekend was spent with the big boys going one direction, while Nana, Landon, and I headed a different direction.

Very early Saturday morning we flew to Dallas to visit this Auburn girl and her family.

She had made the best airport signs ever!

After being picked up from the airport, we headed to Super Chix for lunch.  Think of Five Guys, but chicken.  It was so good.  And the littlest cuzs enjoyed some quality time too!

After that we went back to the house and got naps and watched football.  The Auburn game did not disappoint.

Landon also experienced sweet potato and apple multi-grain cereal and got very excited about it!  He finished it off with no problems.

My Landy was such a good traveler.  He loved snuggling close in the sling.

Meanwhile, the big boys went to Auburn.  Eli sent me a picture of him at lunch at BBQ house.  Jealous!

Eli said it was HOT in Auburn, but that didn't stop him from Tiger Walk or seeing the band!

There was a long lightning delay, and a lot of people cleared out, so Eli got to go down and get a closer look at the field, which he loved.

Eventually, though, the rains did come!

Eli kept telling me on the phone about the "ponch" he had to wear.

Sunday morning, the guys got up and headed to Atlanta for the Braves vs. Marlins game.

This was a good day to go, because there happened to be a kids parade down on the field.  I'm not sure who was more excited, Eli, Daddy, or Puddin!?

It was another VERY hot day.  They said the Braves game was worse than the Auburn game the day before.  Eli was a trooper though.  He hung in there!

We all had a lot of fun, but it sure is good to be home, and good to be back with all three of my guys!

Landon

Landon boy is needing some love on the blog! : )

I can't believe he's almost six months old.  We're all so in love with him.  It's fun having a baby around the house again, but he's changing so quickly.  Some days I just want to freeze time.

Landon boy recently (several weeks ago) had his four month check-up with Dr. Y.

He weighed 16 lbs (30th percentile), he was 25.5" long (20th percentile...a shorty like Mommy!), and his head circumference was 17.5" (90th percentile).  My boys always have big heads, note:  c-section.

Dr. Y said we could try cereal and slowly begin introducing fruits and veggies whenever we were ready.  I was really trying to hang on until Landon was 6 months old, but he was waking up too much at night and this Mommy was TIRED!

Turns out Landon boy was not a huge fan of rice cereal; not in the beginning anyway.

After a few days we mixed in peas, and despite the despair in this picture, Landon really liked them!

While in Texas last weekend I gave him some mutli-grain sweet potato and apple blend cereal, and that was a big winner!  Landon has been gobbling that down, so that's what he's been eating lately.  I try to feed him a "food" twice a day (once at daycare, once around dinner time).  Some days it happens and some days it doesn't.

Landon boy is moving all over the place!  He's become so much more mobile so much more quickly than Eli was at this age.  In the picture below Landon started on the play mat, rolled over and pushed himself backwards past the wipes in the foreground, spun around and scooted back to where he is.  The boy is SO close to crawling.  I expect it any day now!

Landon boy flew to TX with Nana and I this weekend.  I haven't used my sling much this summer because it's been SO hot.  In fact, I haven't used it since the last time we flew, Memorial Day.  Landon boy LOVES the sling though.  As the weather gets cooler I'll definitely be using it more!
