5 Years

July 11 Wesley and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary!  We've finally been married longer than we dated! : )

We wanted to do something, but with Landon being so small, and still needing me, we didn't want to go far away, or for a long time.  Wesley planned a great little one night get-away to Atlanta.

We left just before lunch.

Upon arriving in Atlanta, I managed to talk Wesley into going to Ikea!

As we were leaving Ikea, we started getting texts from my mom saying things like, "Not to alarm anyone, but Landon still hasn't eaten."  I started getting a little concerned because he hadn't been nursing well, but I'd already taken him to urgent care at the beach and they said his ears and throat looked good.

We stayed in Atlanta, but kept getting updates from Nana.

For dinner, we had reservations at the Sundial at the Westin.  We hadn't been anywhere that nice since our honeymoon!

If you've never been, or heard of it, the restaurant is at the top of the hotel (72nd floor) and rotates (360 every hour), giving a view of the entire city.  It was so neat to have a bird's eye view of all of the places we've been so many times before.

Yes...I made us be those people and take pictures of our dinner.  Wesley had grouper, zucchini, and mashed potatoes.

I had a porkchop with some type of jelly sauce on top, bacon mac and cheese (which, honestly, is the reason I ordered this dish), and creamy spinach.

By this point, Landon boy still was refusing his bottle, hadn't had a wet diaper, and his eyes were looking a little sunken, so Nana, Puddin, and Eli took him to the pediatric acute care.  Good news is he wasn't dehydrated since he was still producing tears, but he did have an ear infection.  Which was good to hear and get meds for, but was also frustrating that he'd been suffering so long.  This was what I'd taken him to the doctor for at the beach!

We got home just before midnight, and I fed Landon and put him to bed.  We had plans to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and see the Little Mermaid at the Fox on Saturday.  We decided to just play it by ear, but Saturday morning, Landon still wouldn't take a bottle!  The acute care doctor attributed this to his ears hurting.

So, we lost our reservations for Saturday.  Things don't always turn out the way we want or expect them to.  It was disappointing not to finish our weekend, but we made the most of our weekend in Columbus with the boys and my parents!

We had lunch downtown Saturday and then walked the riverwalk and went to watch whitewater rafters.

We cooled off with popsicles from Planet Pops.

We ended anniversary weekend by getting to go see Divergent (finally!).

Catching Up

We've been on the road a lot lately, back and forth between our house and grandparents houses.  Here's some of what we've been up to lately:

On, July 3, we celebrated Wesley's birthday in Dothan.  The birthday boy chose Buffalo Wild Wings for his birthday dinner.

Right at 4 months, Landon boy started rolling over (tummy to back).  He showed off his new tricks and Eli coached him!

While in Dothan, we also took Eli to Water World, which was a little weird taking my kids to a place where I have so many childhood summer memories!

Eli was just a tad too short for the big slides, but he enjoyed the kiddie pool and the wave pool!

On the 4th of July we woke up and headed out to the annual Jones Family Reunion in Ariton.

Tried to get a red, white, and blue picture of the boys with Ginny and Pops, but Eli wouldn't get off his scooter for 10 seconds for a picture.  So here's a posed action shot! : )

After that we headed back to Dothan to spend the night, and then headed down to Destin on Saturday morning.  This whole trip Landon boy was not acting like himself.  He was waking up several times during the night, not nursing well, fussy, pulling at his right ear, etc.  I was POSITIVE he had an ear infection.  After dinner, Aunt Katie went with me to take Landon boy to an urgent care down there.  The doctor took a look at his ears and throat and said everything looked clear, it was possibly just teething.  I was bummed out that we drove all the way out there, spent $30, and weren't any wiser for it!

Sunday morning we went to church with Ginny and Pops.  The boys were matching (love when they match), but you can't tell.  Eli's getting pretty good at holding his brother.  Of course it helps that Landon boy isn't so "floppy" anymore.

We walked/rode bikes through the neighborhood a few times.

4th of July weekend we avoid the beach.  It's just too crazy.  By Monday morning a lot of people had left, so we left Landon with Ginny and Pops and headed to the beach for the morning.

We also worked on our sand castle skills.  Eli wanted to build some for Puddin.  Then he turned into a sand castle monster and knocked them all down, King Kong style.

Monday afternoon Landon, Wesley, and I headed back north, while Eli got to spend the rest of the week with Ginny, Pops, and Katie.  They had a blast, and I'm not quite sure which of the four had the most fun!

They did things like looked at airplanes,

rode go-carts and played games,

and played a few rounds of goofy golf.

They also stayed busy swimming, playing on the playground, visiting Chick fil A, and getting ice cream.  Thanks Ginny, Pops, and Aunt KT for spoiling Eli and letting him stay and play for several days!

More details on our summer coming sooner rather than later (hopefully)!

Landon-4 months old

Landon boy, you're four months old already?  That means we're already 1/3 of the way through this year.  Seems like we were just counting down the days until your arrival.  I don't think I could love you more, and yet, each month we fall more in love with you.  Our photographer said that when you smile, you smile all the way down to your toes, and I think that's very true!  You have such a fun personality, I can tell already!

Firsts:  grabbing your feet, rolling over (on your 4 mth bday!) tummy to back, summer vacation/family vacation, sleeping 8+ hours (it has only happened 2x so far but we'll take it!), you took your first nap in your crib.

News headlines:  Auburn football player, Philip Lutzenkirchen, died in a car accident, Supreme Court favors Hobby Lobby in case contesting ObamaCare.

Milestones:  You are "talking" (grunting) at us a lot!  It's so funny to listen to you.  You're interacting more and more with Eli.  He loves to talk to you, hold you, and kiss you.  He's so good at making you smile and laugh.  You've just started grabbing your feet too.  It's so sweet!  You're also interacting more and more with toys.  You're sweet personality really shines through when you smile.  It lights up the whole room and makes all three of us oooh and ahhh over you!

Measurements:  Probably around 14 lbs.  You are wearing some 3-6 mths size clothes, but mostly 6 mth clothes (although they are a still just a tad big).  We just opened our last pack of size 1 diapers.  Once those run out we'll make the switch to size 2.

Like Mommy:  You seem to sleep better when we're at home.

Like Daddy:  You and Daddy both seem to be able to function on less sleep than Mommy and Eli.  You are both cat-nappers.

Like Eli:  You love the toys on your carseat.  Just like when Eli was a baby, your favorite is the little bug.

Challenges:  Spitting up is still an issue, although not nearly as bad as it has been in the past.  This month we've had to give you gas drops with nearly every feeding.  A lot of your feedings are accompanied with fussing until those gas drops kick in.  Mommy has made you rotten this summer.  You prefer to nap being held.  Really, you prefer to be held most of the time.  I wouldn't have it any other way! : )

Our Days:  We are definitely spoiled with not having to set an alarm and get you ready for school.  I'm hanging on to these days tightly.  You're so sweet and I'm going to really be sad when I have to take you back to school.  I love having you and Eli as my little sidekicks all day!  You normally get up sometime between 5-6 to eat, and then you fall back asleep for another 2-3 hours.  You usually start your morning sometime after 8.  We get up and play for a few hours, then you eat and nap.  Around lunch time you eat and nap again.  You usually have two smaller naps in the afternoon before or just after supper.  You're typically ready to go down for the night sometime around 9 pm.

Funny/Favorite Moments:  Daddy-seeing you swim in the Wyndham pool during our Panama City Vacation.  Mommy-One night you and brother were asleep in Mommy's bed.  I was moving you to the pack n play and you let out three little toots, not to be out done, and impressively while still sleeping, Eli let out one long, deep toot.  We deemed it as the beginning of sibling rivalry!
