Last weekend we spent four days in Tennessee with my family. We affectionately referred to this weekend as Camp Nana Puddin'.
We picked the Burgins up from the airport and then drove to TN to meet Z and Amber. While the drive through the Smokies was beautiful, it did not go over so well with Landon boy. Poor baby got SO CARSICK on the drive back down the mountain. I think it was a combination of the winding roads and his ears. : (
We celebrated summer birthdays for half the family.
Friday morning we got up and headed to Ober Gatlinburg. It was incredibly HOT that weekend.
The kids enjoyed lots of little rides and games at the top of the mountain.
The little kids found some shade for a bit at the playground.
The big kids competed in couples at the Maze. So much fun! The Pettys of Wake Forest won, then the Taffs, and finally the Burgins.
The view coming back down the mountain was incredible!
Between Landon's ears and medication issues, plus a nasty stomach bug that got passed around (only Puddin, Wesley, Clark, and Maddie were left standing in the end), day 2 was spent trying to relax. We ended up changing cabins due to an AC issue. The move was definitely worth it!
It's no easy task to get a picture of four kids four and under!
On day 3 in TN we went to the Titanic Museum. So cool! Everyone had a great time, and saw some beautiful things!
Before going through the exhibit, everyone is given a real person and you find out in the end whether or not your person survived, and what happened to them after the Titanic. (It reminded me a lot of the Holocaust museum in that respect.)
Eli was obviously not super excited about getting on a sinking ship.
Good news. All the Taffs survived the ice berg!
The adults played several rounds of a game Z and Amber introduced us to: Killer Bunnies. So much fun!
Sunday night we dined at the Apple Barn for supper and it did not disappoint. 'Twas delicious!
Eli picked out a set of binoculars from the Titanic gift shop. We did a lot of porch sitting on this vacation, and the binoculars were perfect for that.
Taking in the view!
The drive home was much easier on this guy's tummy. He was a much happier traveler!
Thanks Nana and Puddin' for such a fun vacation! We can't wait to do it again!!
