Hungry

Hungry. That pretty much sums it all up right now.

I know I'm "eating for two right now," but lets be honest, "number two" weighs less than a pound. I read that I'm only supposed to be eating 300 calories more per day right now. Most days I'm probably eating more than that!

I try not to use being pregnant as an excuse to completely gorge myself because I don't want to be a fat cow, and what comes on will have to come off one day soon. BUT - I AM HUNGRY! It's not that I eat anymore than I usually do in one sitting, but two hours later and my stomach is growling loudly! Frankly, I find it a little frustrating.

Disney Princess

Who doesn't want to be a Disney princess?

Well, a group of teachers at my school have decided to put together a goal and run the Disney Princess Half Marathon next March. Some in the group are already runners. Most of us aren't.

I seriously don't know if I can do that, but hey, it will be a good way to lose some baby weight after August. One of the other teachers going is due in September with her third, so if she can do it, I can too! And who doesn't want to run through Cinderella's castle?! : )

At every mile (that's like 12 or 13 breaks) you get to stop and take your picture with a different Disney princess and when you finish, you get a big pink medallion! And as if that's not enough, in true princess fashion, you get to wear a TIARA while you run! I think that's what sealed the deal for me, haha.

Seriously, go here and watch the video. I'm not going to dress up as Sleeping Beauty or anything, but I will proudly wear a tiara! : )

17 Weeks Pregnant

No baby bump pictures yet! There is a bump there, but it just looks like fat to me.

I think maternity pants are in my near future! I've said goodbye to size 4 (I really hope this isn't "so long," but just "until we meet again"), and am in a size 6 now. I've actually worn the same pair of khaki pants to work 3 times since last Friday. I just can't help myself; they're the most comfortable things I can wear right now. I wore one pair of jeans the other day and was the most uncomfortable I've ever been in my life.
I felt like I was squishing baby!

I go back to the doctor in about ten days and I'm interested to see how much weight I've gained. Last week I thought I was doing pretty good, but this week I've felt humongo. I normally run up the stairs in our house, but tonight when I was doing it, I actually had to stop halfway up and walk the rest of the way. It all of a sudden was not so easy.

I think Baby has Wesley's taste buds - nothing international! I had Chinese food for lunch yesterday. I enjoyed it, but baby did not. It was not pretty, people.

So here's what's going on with Baby at 17 weeks:
- Baby is about 5 inches long and weighs about 5 ounces: about the size of a turnip!
- Baby's sweat glands are beginning to develop.
- Baby's arms and legs are now longer than it's head, making it's body more proportionate.

I Get It....

Wesley and I have argued about this for years now.

But, I finally get it.

It's funny.

In that ridiculous sort of way.

But, I get it now.

And I laugh. Pretty hard sometimes.

The Office. It's hilarious!

Last Weekend and This Weekend

Be prepared....this is a long-winded post!

Last weekend I cashed in on my Valentine's Day present from Wesley! He got us tickets to the Darius Rucker/Rascal Flatts concert in Columbus, GA. We had such a good time. Wesley didn't realize that Darius Rucker was Hootie, so even though he doesn't like country music, he actually liked him! Darius played some of his new country stuff, but also played some of his best known Hootie and the Blowfish stuff. And, of course, Rascal Flatts was amazing! They played tons of stuff, but a lot of their older stuff they sang slightly different arrangements of it.

This weekend has gone by sooo quickly! Saturday we had a wedding in Montgomery to go to, so Friday night I tried on the dress I was planning on wearing, and good thing, because it did NOT fit! So about one hour before the mall closed, we high-tailed it to Macy's. I officially shopped in the maternity section. I actually really liked the dress I bought there, and it was cheaper than the dresses not in the maternity section. It didn't look like a maternity dress, and I can probably wear it for awhile.

Saturday morning we got up, cleaned out our closets, and then went furniture shopping. We were looking for new living room furniture (couches specifically). We've been looking like three weekends in a row. I'm getting frustrated. Cheap, expensive, or otherwise, we just haven't found anything that we really like it. We've found bedroom furniture that we really like. We don't really NEED it; there's nothing wrong with what we've got. So we've decided to wait just a little while longer.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Montgomery for a wedding of some friends from college. The wedding was really nice, and sadly I didn't take one picture! We had a great time! We saw a lot of people we went to Auburn with and hadn't seen in months (and some in years).

Today, we slept in really late (that Springing Forward thing killed us), but it was so nice that the sun was out later. This afternoon I napped, watched A Time to Kill (LOVE that movie!), and then Wesley and I played soccer in the front yard and then to a walk through the neighborhood.

It was a great weekend that went by wayyyy to quickly!
Four weeks and counting until Spring Break!

7 Things on Post 107

Ok, so I was reading this post and figured this would be an easy post to do! I've had nothing to blog about here lately.

Seven Random Things About Me:

1. I honestly sleep better and get more rest when my room is clean, everything is picked up and in its place, and my bed was made right before I get in it. Pre-marriage/having a bedmate, I made my bed as soon as I got out of the shower, and now it's something I struggle with. I want to turn on the lights, the TV, and get my day started, but Wesley is still sleeping! By the time he gets up, I don't usually have time to make it before I've got to head out the door. Even on those days that it doesn't get made, I'll still make it even if I just make it and then pull the covers directly back down.

2. My laundry room and upstairs guest bathroom are probably my favorite rooms of the house right now. Probably because their the only ones 100% decorated and completed (we've only been in the house about three months now). Wesley finds it crazy that I decorated the laundry room, but I think it's cute and cheerful. I really should post pictures.

3. I'm so excited for Spring Break this year. Wesley and I are both teachers and we work in the same system (same school actually) and therefore have the same Spring Break! We're headed to Gatlinburg, TN, for the ENTIRE WEEK and I can not wait. It will be so nice to get away, just us, and do something fun. I'm really looking forward to a whole week of sleeping in too!

4. Maybe it's because I'm a teacher, maybe it's because I'm "Type-A," but it really irritates me when people don't use "to" and "too" correctly or when they don't use "there," "their," or "they're" correctly. These are things I stress to my students because it really irritates me when people misuse homophones. Just incase you need a refresher - "their" shows ownership and possession, "they're" is a contraction meaning 'they are,' and "there" usually refers to a place. "Too" is synonymous with 'also'. Ok, thank you, *stepping off of soap box now.*

5. Currently, my favorite television show is Army Wives. I started watching it through Netflix, starting with Season 1 and quickly became obsessed. I'm on Season 3, Disc 3 right now. Season 4 will begin on Lifetime in April, the Sunday that Spring Break starts (another reason to look forward to SB)!

6. This isn't really random, but I'm really ready to go back to the doctor. I like hearing little baby's heartbeat, and when I go back next time (at the end of March) my doctor is going to set up the appointment for my next ultrasound - where we will find out if it's baby is XX or XY! I really can't wait. I'm dying to buy stuff. We already have the names for either gender picked out, but aren't telling anyone until we know boy or girl. I AM DYING TO TELL!!!!! I am so not a secret keeper and this is killing me! : )

7. This one really isn't about me, but I can't think of anything else right now - but today, March 14, is PI day! You know, like 3.14159...! I wish I had some pie to eat in honor of it. I'm sure Wesley would be in favor of that. He's all about sweets, but usually, I'd rather have salty. (Ok, so there's my seventh random fact.) : )

Thirty One Gifts

Have you heard of Thirty One? It's a christian organization based on Proverbs 31 and they sell all kinds of great stuff. Really, there was so much stuff I wanted. I had never heard of it before, but went to a party tonight. I bought one thing for me - this basket - isn't it cute!? : )

I thought about putting it in the downstairs half bath and storing toilet paper in it. I think it'd be cute. Wesley wants to know what's my fascination with having somewhere decorative to store t.p. in every bathroom, haha! Legitimate question, and I really don't have an answer for it. I just like it. Another girl from work ordered this same basket but was going to put it on her kitchen counter and put her paper towels on the roll and keep fruit in the basket.

I also allowed myself to make my FIRST baby purchases (other than diapers and wipes)! I've been dying to buy SOMETHING. I don't want to buy anything not knowing the gender. It's not much, and idk if I'll really use these or not, but I bought two pacifier holder/clip thingies. We still don't know XX or XY, so I bought one for a boy and one for a girl! haha!

PS-Concert pics coming soon.

PPS-Check it out here for a giveaway! : )
