I Get It....

Wesley and I have argued about this for years now.

But, I finally get it.

It's funny.

In that ridiculous sort of way.

But, I get it now.

And I laugh. Pretty hard sometimes.

The Office. It's hilarious!

Last Weekend and This Weekend

Be prepared....this is a long-winded post!

Last weekend I cashed in on my Valentine's Day present from Wesley! He got us tickets to the Darius Rucker/Rascal Flatts concert in Columbus, GA. We had such a good time. Wesley didn't realize that Darius Rucker was Hootie, so even though he doesn't like country music, he actually liked him! Darius played some of his new country stuff, but also played some of his best known Hootie and the Blowfish stuff. And, of course, Rascal Flatts was amazing! They played tons of stuff, but a lot of their older stuff they sang slightly different arrangements of it.

This weekend has gone by sooo quickly! Saturday we had a wedding in Montgomery to go to, so Friday night I tried on the dress I was planning on wearing, and good thing, because it did NOT fit! So about one hour before the mall closed, we high-tailed it to Macy's. I officially shopped in the maternity section. I actually really liked the dress I bought there, and it was cheaper than the dresses not in the maternity section. It didn't look like a maternity dress, and I can probably wear it for awhile.

Saturday morning we got up, cleaned out our closets, and then went furniture shopping. We were looking for new living room furniture (couches specifically). We've been looking like three weekends in a row. I'm getting frustrated. Cheap, expensive, or otherwise, we just haven't found anything that we really like it. We've found bedroom furniture that we really like. We don't really NEED it; there's nothing wrong with what we've got. So we've decided to wait just a little while longer.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Montgomery for a wedding of some friends from college. The wedding was really nice, and sadly I didn't take one picture! We had a great time! We saw a lot of people we went to Auburn with and hadn't seen in months (and some in years).

Today, we slept in really late (that Springing Forward thing killed us), but it was so nice that the sun was out later. This afternoon I napped, watched A Time to Kill (LOVE that movie!), and then Wesley and I played soccer in the front yard and then to a walk through the neighborhood.

It was a great weekend that went by wayyyy to quickly!
Four weeks and counting until Spring Break!

7 Things on Post 107

Ok, so I was reading this post and figured this would be an easy post to do! I've had nothing to blog about here lately.

Seven Random Things About Me:

1. I honestly sleep better and get more rest when my room is clean, everything is picked up and in its place, and my bed was made right before I get in it. Pre-marriage/having a bedmate, I made my bed as soon as I got out of the shower, and now it's something I struggle with. I want to turn on the lights, the TV, and get my day started, but Wesley is still sleeping! By the time he gets up, I don't usually have time to make it before I've got to head out the door. Even on those days that it doesn't get made, I'll still make it even if I just make it and then pull the covers directly back down.

2. My laundry room and upstairs guest bathroom are probably my favorite rooms of the house right now. Probably because their the only ones 100% decorated and completed (we've only been in the house about three months now). Wesley finds it crazy that I decorated the laundry room, but I think it's cute and cheerful. I really should post pictures.

3. I'm so excited for Spring Break this year. Wesley and I are both teachers and we work in the same system (same school actually) and therefore have the same Spring Break! We're headed to Gatlinburg, TN, for the ENTIRE WEEK and I can not wait. It will be so nice to get away, just us, and do something fun. I'm really looking forward to a whole week of sleeping in too!

4. Maybe it's because I'm a teacher, maybe it's because I'm "Type-A," but it really irritates me when people don't use "to" and "too" correctly or when they don't use "there," "their," or "they're" correctly. These are things I stress to my students because it really irritates me when people misuse homophones. Just incase you need a refresher - "their" shows ownership and possession, "they're" is a contraction meaning 'they are,' and "there" usually refers to a place. "Too" is synonymous with 'also'. Ok, thank you, *stepping off of soap box now.*

5. Currently, my favorite television show is Army Wives. I started watching it through Netflix, starting with Season 1 and quickly became obsessed. I'm on Season 3, Disc 3 right now. Season 4 will begin on Lifetime in April, the Sunday that Spring Break starts (another reason to look forward to SB)!

6. This isn't really random, but I'm really ready to go back to the doctor. I like hearing little baby's heartbeat, and when I go back next time (at the end of March) my doctor is going to set up the appointment for my next ultrasound - where we will find out if it's baby is XX or XY! I really can't wait. I'm dying to buy stuff. We already have the names for either gender picked out, but aren't telling anyone until we know boy or girl. I AM DYING TO TELL!!!!! I am so not a secret keeper and this is killing me! : )

7. This one really isn't about me, but I can't think of anything else right now - but today, March 14, is PI day! You know, like 3.14159...! I wish I had some pie to eat in honor of it. I'm sure Wesley would be in favor of that. He's all about sweets, but usually, I'd rather have salty. (Ok, so there's my seventh random fact.) : )

Thirty One Gifts

Have you heard of Thirty One? It's a christian organization based on Proverbs 31 and they sell all kinds of great stuff. Really, there was so much stuff I wanted. I had never heard of it before, but went to a party tonight. I bought one thing for me - this basket - isn't it cute!? : )

I thought about putting it in the downstairs half bath and storing toilet paper in it. I think it'd be cute. Wesley wants to know what's my fascination with having somewhere decorative to store t.p. in every bathroom, haha! Legitimate question, and I really don't have an answer for it. I just like it. Another girl from work ordered this same basket but was going to put it on her kitchen counter and put her paper towels on the roll and keep fruit in the basket.

I also allowed myself to make my FIRST baby purchases (other than diapers and wipes)! I've been dying to buy SOMETHING. I don't want to buy anything not knowing the gender. It's not much, and idk if I'll really use these or not, but I bought two pacifier holder/clip thingies. We still don't know XX or XY, so I bought one for a boy and one for a girl! haha!

PS-Concert pics coming soon.

Dancing With the Stars

I'm so excited about the new season of Dancing With the Stars!

I need March 22 to hurry up and come!

I think it will be a good line up. Here are some of my favs:

Niecy Nash

Buzz Aldrin
(I've always wondered if he was like, dang, I wish I had been first to walk on the moon? How did they decide who went first? Well, take that Neil, Buzz Aldrin gets to be on DWTS!)

The Bachelor, Jake.
(I refused to watch last night. I don't care for Vienna. But, hey, whatever floats his boat!)

Erin Andrews - She's just so likable!

And, Kate Gosselin! I'm really excited about her being on the show. I hope she does well. I was a Jon & Kate Plus 8 junkie. I miss that show!

Now, hurry up March 22! I'll be waiting on the couch that night!

Baby Visit

Today I had another baby check up with my doctor. I was really looking forward to it! It was much more pleasant than last month's, "all in your business," visit! : )

I got there and had to give a urine sample, had my BP checked (perfectly normal), and then ..... the weigh-in. I was having Dr. Pascoe flashbacks from my days at Auburn. I took my shoes and jacket off, but really wanted to like take some layers of clothes off too or something. I've gained 3 lbs since my last visit, four weeks ago. I was a little bummed out by that, I was hoping it wasn't that much. But, the lab nurse said that was good. I'm not entirely sure how much I've gained since my pre-pregnancy weight. My scales at home are different than theirs (I weigh less on the one in my bathroom, so I'm going by that). I'm guessing I've gained somewhere around 4-5 lbs in the past 14 (almost 15 now) weeks.

Wesley made his first trip to the OB/GYN today! hahaha! I have a sick husband who stayed home from work today with pink eye, so he was able to make my appointment. He didn't touch anything at the doctor, and washed his hands twice while we were there. I was glad he got to go and hear the heartbeat (and he saw "the stirrups" first hand - ha)!

Baby Taff's heart was beating 155 beats per minute. The doctor said between 120-160 was normal, but it is usually on the higher side early in pregnancy.

Remember me talking about getting one of these yesterday? I wore it to work today. I was a little unsure about it. But let me tell you - I wish I'd known about these suckers before I was pregnant! It was like, the best pants wearing experience of my entire life! haha! No joke, they are reallllly comfortable and will allow me to wear my pants A LOT longer! I got mine in white, but may go back for some more colors.

We've started buying diapers and wipes at every visit to the grocery store here lately. I've talked to several people, and they've all recommended Pampers, so that's what we're going with. I was given several of the Newborn size yesterday, and then bought size 3 at Wal-Mart (because that's all they had). I've got three boxes of wipes so far. I've found some coupons online for Huggies baby wipes, so I'm printing some off and going to get them, and then sent the link to my mom, and she's going to do the same for me!

Pregnancy story of the week:
Food Aversions - PIZZA. Oh my gosh. It's seriously bad. Wednesday of last week, I came right home from work and slept until 7:30. Wesley woke me up then because he'd gotten Marco's Pizza (which we love) for dinner. It was fine that night. I ate two slices and went back to bed. So, the next day I took two more slices for lunch. Well, I headed it up and sat down at the table to eat it and it looked, and smelled, soooooo gross. The thought of pizza made me want to pass out. I ate the crust only, and thought I was going to die. I told a teacher friend I was just going to put on a movie for the rest of the afternoon. I NEVER do this, but I just couldn't take it. We got down the hall and another teacher volunteered to take my class for Math (God bless her) because I looked so rough. I turned my light out, locked my door, got in a beanbag chair in the back of my room, set the alarm on my cell phone, and slept for an hour! That night Wesley's grandmother asked if we could bring her pizza and come eat dinner. Oh my sweet mercy. No way, no how. Wesley was sweet to get me Subway.

Happy Anniversary!

If you didn't know us, you might think we're weird for celebrating our anniversary.
We're not. I promise! : )

I met my dear, dear friend, Ashley (soon to be Aunt Ashley!), at flag try-outs at Auburn University SEVEN YEARS AGO today! I remember it like it was yesterday too. My how things have changed!

I love you, Ash! Happy Seven Years!
