Eli Lately

This is more of a 'for Mommy' type of post.  I want to remember all of the cute, little things that Eli is doing these days.

*Eli is becoming sooo much more verbal.  He is speaking more frequently in short sentences and is very conversational.  "Get down, Momma!"  : )  A few nights ago he started singing, "Ses, Jesus love me."  I think my heart might have exploded.  It was by far the sweetest thing I've ever heard in my life!

*Eli's version of Jesus loves me is quite humorous.  He gets to the part about 'they are weak, but He is strong'...on strong he shows his muscles, growls, and then kisses his muscles before continuing on with the song.

*Eli also sings the Happy Birthday song and Deep and Wide at random times.  I do love to hear him sing!

*Eli constantly has scraps or bruises on his arms and legs.  He climbs and jumps off of everything.  His favorite is to climb up on the couch, bounce on his butt, and then jump onto the ground.  He is all boy for sure!  He is constantly coming to me getting me to kiss his "ouchies".

*Thanks to daycare, Eli no longer wants to drink from sippy cups.  He insists on drinking from a regular cup.  That may be the cool, big kid thing to do at daycare, but here where we have couches, rugs, and carpet, that's not going to fly just yet.

*Eli is beginning to identify colors.  Red and blue are the ones he can really pick out, and he tends to get them right most of the time.  Eli is also getting really good at his alphabet.  He can get all the way to P on his own (sometimes), and he can fill in the rest of the letters with prompting.  Counting to 10 is the same.

*Eli loves to wear his "fip-fops".  He wants to wear them ALL the time.  We have to hide them on school mornings (to which he walks around calling, "fip-fops...are you?"), otherwise he will insist on wearing them, but they make his feet REEK.  They smell so nasty!

*Eli has learned to say his whole name - "Leli Charles Taff".  It's really cute.  I discovered he could say "Charles" when we walked into daycare recently and he spoke to the church janitor, "HEY CHARLES!"  I wasn't even aware they were friends.  I asked him if Charles was his name and he told me yes.

*Eli never wants to ride in my car.  He wants to ride in Daddy's car, also known as "Aubie car".  Anytime we get into my car, he says "no, Daddy car" or "no, Aubie car".  He calls it the Aubie car because one time we listed to the Auburn band cd in there, and now we have to EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.  Because of this Eli now knows how to do 'War Eagle" and how to spell out Auburn, although he gets a little distracted and then just keeps naming his ABCs.
