Four Month Check Up

Thursday afternoon Eli had his four month check up and vaccinations. He was totally excited about this. Ha!
While we waited on the doctor we talked, grabbed our feet, tooted, and tried to roll around!
Eli's stats: 17 lbs 4 oz (75th percentile) and 25 1/4 inches long (45th percentile)
So, little man's rate of growth is slowing down some. Last time we went he was in the 85th percentile for weight and height.

Dr. Y said that everything was absolutely perfect! We talked about all the things you should be doing right now (and are) as well as how much you're eating/drinking. Then, you got your vaccinations: one orally and two by shot. The first shot didn't even phase you, but the second shot got you mighty upset (until Mommy picked you up and made it all better)! It breaks my heart to see you upset. Your face shows so much personality, even in pain and heartbreak, and you look at me with an expression that says "Why are you doing this to me, Mommy?". I can't take it!

I can't believe how much Eli has changed in the past 6 weeks. From 3-4 months he got so active. He no longer seems like an infant to me. Dr. Y told me I better enjoy these last few months of "baby-dom" because he is right on the brink of becoming very active and from then on there'll be no stopping him!

  1. We have that little play mat, I think? Does it have sides? We called it an "Annie pen" and it was so helpful when she started "scooting" but not really crawling. We'd put her in it for five or ten minutes and be able to get SOMETHING done. Your pediatrician is right; once they are mobile it's a whole new world (for everyone, ha!)
