These last few weeks are flying by in one respect (or maybe, it's just summer flying by), and utterly dragging in others.
At 33 wks, I've gained 28 lbs and am HOT as all get out (and, yes, I realize it's summer in the South and everyone's hot)! I've also noticed that the closer to the end we get, the more frequent my heartburn/acid reflux has become. I really have not had much at all. I could probably count the instances on one hand, but I've had it about 3 times in the past week. I hope that doesn't continue for the next 7 weeks.
But, enough of the complaining : ) ......... on to the good stuff!
At 33 weeks, Eli is between 4-4.5 pounds and over 17 inches long. The amniotic fluid is at its highest levels this week. From here on out Eli will be packing on the pounds (well, ounces anyway) at 5-9 oz/week. Eli's brain is continuing to grow, which is increasing the size of his head. Eli still moves around a lot. He's a lot calmer during the day, it's usually just late at night that he starts to play. I hope he gets that out of his system before his big debut.
We are pretty much ready for Eli (as far as things 'around the house' goes). Wesley still has to touch up the chair rail, and we've got to hang a few more things on the wall. We've been out of town so much that we haven't had time for this yet!
I went back to the doctor today for one final BP check before our anniversary trip. My BP was great - 104/60 (the lowest it's been the entire pregnancy, I think). I gained 1.5 lbs since last Tuesday, which I was really bummed about, especially considering I haven't even been eating that much lately (due to lack of space!), but the doctor also said I'm measuring about 2 weeks ahead. Maybe Eli will come early?! : )
And, finally, I'm headed here tomorrow:

The School Box!!! I'm super excited about it!!! And, yes, I realize being this excited about shopping for teacher supplies is the epitome of dorkie! : )
So, will you be teaching come fall, starting maternity leave when school starts, or how does that work?
ReplyDeleteOoh, two weeks early would be great! :) So everything is still on for DC?
ReplyDeleteTwo weeks early would be great (I'm so tired of being pregnant)! That would put the due date at Aug. 12. However, I do have mixed emotions about it. School starts the 3rd for teachers and the 9th for students. I really want to get at least the first week (I'd really like two weeks) in with my students to establish MY routines and expectations. I'm just a little apprehensive of how things would be for the remainder of the year, if someone else gets them started doing things a completely different way! So, yes, Brittney, I *plan* (but what are my plans?!) to start back in the fall.
ReplyDeleteOh, and, YES-anniversary trip is a GO! whoo hoo! Calling you tomorrow, Ash.
